level jerseysSo while I don’t often update this site, there is always a lot going on… One of the fun things lately have been that basketball season has started for our city league and as has been the case, my company has put together a team. This is my third year, and well, we’re not very good, but we have fun. And one of the funnest things is the “Press Releases” that come out ofter the games. I’ll make sure to put them up after each game. So here’s the first. I’ll put the second up tomorrow… Heck, maybe I’ll add pictures!

DONKEY KONG BARRELS OVER LEVEL IN SEASON OPENER
New Name, Same Results, LEVEL starts 3rd Season 0-1

(For Immediate Release)

Arroyo Grande, CA – Sporting a new look and a new team, LEVEL started the game with great hopes for the season. Unfortunately, it wasn’t to be. “We looked good early, and I’m not just talking about the new jerseys. We had strong defense and we were quick on the ball, what more could you ask for?” Phil “Hornet” Siems commented after the game. The easy answer for LEVEL would be: baskets. “We struggled from the field. The second half was just brutal!” team owner and starting forward Tom Adamski said. And struggle they did, adding just 13 points in the second half; 7 of which came in the last 2 minutes.

Team Manager, Hank “Smiles” Wethington didn’t have much to smile about, and had even fewer answers. “No amount of timeouts or substitutions were going to solve our inability to put the ball through the hoop. We have a lot to work on, but I think we’re way better than our score tonight.” Hank has to be worried, at 4-17, a new contract doesn’t look promising.

There were definitely some things to get excited about. New additions Dan “Lucky 13” Connolly and Miguel “What Foul?” Castro played strong for LEVEL, especially on the defensive end. Steven Hasagawa and 2nd year player, Rob Patti gave added lift to the team, Steven with 6 points off the bench and Rob contributing on the boards.

The biggest surprise was contract holdout and returning point guard “The Playground” Daniel Parks. As the only consistent scorer, Daniel just couldn’t do it by himself. “Everyone had open shots, on another night, those shots would hit,” said Daniel.

And LEVEL will get that opportunity next week at 6:30p as they face off with the 1-0, Stuntmen in AG.
