Again… Not much to day… but due to a different outcome.
OROMONDE BROTHERS EDGE OUT LEVEL IN OVERTIME
3 Minutes Too Long for LEVEL as Team Moves to 2 and 4
(For Immediate Release)
Arroyo Grande, CA – The second half of the LEVEL’s basketball season commenced last night at Paulding Pavilion. Hoping to channel a 2-week winning streak, LEVEL was hungry for a three-peat. Jumping out to an early lead, LEVEL was on the brink of a first ever, .500 season. Tom “Hot Hands” Adamski lit up the score board from downtown, while “The Playground” Daniel Parks led the offensive charge once again. LEVEL’s offense was even able to overcome a technical foul on Miguel Castro for his part in AIG financial mess. The game seemed well in control as LEVEL led by 7 at the half, thanks to a career high, 8 points for Hank “Smiles” Wethington and the defensive effort by Huge Game Award winner Brain “Too Tall” Clausen, who drew the unlucky straw and had to body up against “Andre the Giant” all game long.
Once again, however, LEVEL would find itself on the wrong end of the referee’s whistle and the score board. From the start of the second half, Ormonde Brothers, now retrenched in D3, owned the offensive boards and shot the lights out from beyond the arc. Even Phil Siems’ pestering defense and “Speedy” Van Indra’s 2 steals weren’t enough as Ormonde Brothers delivered LEVEL a devastating 3-point loss in a 3-minute overtime.
Next week, LEVEL looks to restart their winning streak as they meet up with the Stuntmen.
