LEVEL Basketball – Game 7 (25-48)

Brutal game, at least from a scoring and performace standpoint. It was still fun though.
REPEAT PERFORMANCE AS STUNTMEN TOO MUCH FOR LEVEL
Shorthanded Team Struggles And Drops Second Straight Game
(For Immediate Release)
Arroyo Grande, CA – Like a bad horror movie with a predictable ending, LEVEL once again found themselves in trouble from the opening tip. Shorthanded before the game began, LEVEL reverted to their losing ways. It came down to leadership, it came down to people, it came down to making shots. With “Hot Shot” Tom Adamski out due to a season ending injury, “The Playground” Daniel Parks out promoting his new CD and “The Maniac” Mark Grondin a no-show, there just weren’t enough offensive weapons on the court for LEVEL to have a fighting chance.
The bright spots on offense would be relegated to just two: Phil Siems and Mig “29” Castro. Phil would continue his offensive streak and put up 9 points with a couple of assists, while Miguel, who ran the offense for LEVEL, would hit for just 6 points and only 1 assist. Both men would be robbed of assists due to the inability of the LEVEL team to hit wide open shots. “The rims weren’t kind to us tonight,” starting point guard Van “Speedy” Indra would comment after the game. “We certainly looked a lot better at practice today.”
And practice is something LEVEL could certainly use more of. Using the 5th different starting line-up in seven games, LEVEL looked disjointed. “Practice on Monday, Wednesday and Friday… You’d think we could hit more shots” Steven Hasagawa posited during the press conference. Steven has been working hard in practice, and looked to be LEVELs 3-point ace, but his shots would not fall as he would hit only 1 of 5 from beyond the arc. In place of Mark Grondin, Rob Patti got the start at the 5. His rebounding would keep LEVEL’s second half respectable, while Brian “Too Tall” Clausen would provide a defensive presence inside. Unfortunately for LEVEL, the Stuntmen had no problem hitting their 3’s, leaving LEVEL with nothing to hope for but a quick end to this bad remake.
“Losing Tom is a blow to our outside game. I can’t talk too much about his accident, but I can tell you, we’re already looking at his contract,” Hank mentioned during practice before the game. “I’m hoping to provide some of what Tom gave us game in and game out though.” Unfortunately for Hank, with 4 turnovers, no assists and only 3 points, he struggled along with the rest of team.
Going forward, LEVEL will have to rewrite the script and come in with a more refined strategy to get back to their winning ways. We’ll tune in next week when LEVEL plays Budget Ballers at 6:30 in AG.
